Kyrio now speaks the same language as your AI assistant. With the Kyrio MCP server (currently in beta), you can connect your household to Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or any tool that supports the Model Context Protocol — and run parts of your home in plain language.

What is the Kyrio MCP server?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to real tools and data. The Kyrio MCP server, hosted at mcp.kyrio.app, exposes your household to any MCP-compatible assistant — so it can do real things in Kyrio instead of just talking about them.

What you can ask

Once connected, you can talk to your household the way you’d text a partner. For example:

  • “Add ‘take out the bins’ as a Monday chore for Sofia, worth 10 points.”
  • “What’s on the family calendar this week?”
  • “Add milk, eggs, and bread to the grocery list.”
  • “Who has the most points this week?”

The assistant works through the same backend the app does, so anything it changes shows up for everyone in your household.

How to connect it

  1. In your AI assistant’s settings, add a new MCP server pointing at mcp.kyrio.app.
  2. Sign in once with your Kyrio account using secure OAuth — no passwords are shared with the assistant.
  3. Start asking. The assistant can now read and update your household with the same permissions your account has.

For a walkthrough and the current list of supported clients, see the Kyrio AI page.

Is it safe?

Security is the whole reason to do this with MCP instead of a scraping workaround:

  • OAuth 2.1 (with PKCE and dynamic client registration) over your existing Kyrio account — the assistant never sees your password.
  • The same secured backend as the app: every request runs against Kyrio’s row-level-secured database, so an assistant only ever sees what your account can see.
  • EU-hosted and GDPR-first, like the rest of Kyrio.

A note on beta

The MCP server is in beta. The set of tools and the assistants we’ve tested against will grow over time, and some things may change as we refine it. If you try it and something feels off, tell us at support@kyrio.app.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI assistants work with Kyrio?
Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — including Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf. As more tools adopt MCP, they work with Kyrio automatically.
Do I need Kyrio Pro to use the MCP server?
You need a Kyrio account. The MCP server connects to your household; new households get 30 days of Pro free, and the free tier remains available after that.
Can the assistant see my family’s private data?
Only what your own account can already see. The connection uses the same row-level security as the app and is authorized via OAuth, so the assistant acts as you — with your permissions, and nothing more.
Is the MCP server finished?
It’s in beta. Core actions work today, and the set of tools and tested clients will keep expanding. If something feels off, email support@kyrio.app.
